Each of our separately managed outlets is proud to maintain its commitment to contribute to betterment of each of the local communities in which we operate, live and play. Below are a few of the local events we sponsor and/or have participated.

On September 16th and 17th 2011, two brave volunteers spent the night high above the ground in a WesternOne scissor lift at the Thrifties on Austin and Mariner in Coquitlam. The Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast riders spent 24 hours in our scissor lift while collecting donations on the ground for pediatric cancer research and support programs.

WesternOne Rentals & Sales supports Langley’s Premiere Wheelchair Basketball Team- the Langley Gold Rush Wheelchair Basketball Club.

The 2011 Canadian Open Fastpitch International Championship will be held from July 11 - 17 in Surrey, British Columbia and will carry on the Canada Cup spirit of promoting the development of the great game of softball by helping young female athletes reach for their personal best both on and off the field.

On August 14th and 15th 2010, The Royal Canadian Legion - Whalley Branch No. 229 along with many other legions across the nation celebrated the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Since 1998, the annual Lights of Hope campaign has raised more than $10 million to help fund patient care, research and education initiatives at St. Paul’s Hospital.Our dedicated volunteers are already hard at work planning this year’s light display using donated materials in front of the hospital.

Here in Victoria BC we have the Casa Maria Emergency Housing Society and recently they did an “Extreme Makeover” theme type renovation on a single family dwelling to modernize and enable or offer emergency housing for a few families in transition.

The 2008 Lights of Hope fundraising campaign is well underway. This year’s fundraising goal is $2.1 million. Since 1998, the annual Lights of Hope campaign has raised more than $10 million to help fund patient care, research and education initiatives at St. Paul’s Hospital.
